Rain Expected for Monza
The Formula One circuit moves to Monza this weekend for the Italian Grand Prix amidst controversy and a threat of rain. Monza is descibed by the drivers as the fastest circuit on the calender and it's no surprise when drivers reach speeds of up to 350 kilometres per hour.
Unusually, this may be a race at the famed Autodrome in which the weather plays a role. Thursday will be partly cloudy with an ambient temperature high of 27 degrees Celsius, but there is a possibility of showers for the following three days. On Friday and Saturday the temperature high will drop to 25 and 21 degrees respectively, rising again to 27 on race day.
The race will run over 53 laps of the 5.793 kilometre (3.6 mile) circuit, or 306.720 kilometres (190.596 miles). It starts at 1400 hours local time, which is two hours ahead of GMT.
