Catalans Dragons captain Greg Bird has been handed a one-match ban and a £300 fine after being found guilty of a reckless tackle last weekend.
Bird will miss his team's re-arranged Super League match against Salford on Friday following his challenge on Celtic Crusaders prop Ryan O'Hara.
Also this week Bird will discover the re! sult of an appeal against a prison sentence for wounding his girlfriend.
The former Cronulla Sharks player was released on bail pending the appeal.
Under the Grade C offence for a reckless tackle, Bird, who has played in the Dragons' last four matches, could have faced a four-match suspension.
New South Wales-born Bird does not have to attend Wednesday's court hearing regarding his prison sentence, which will be held in Sydney.
The 25-year-old stand-off had denied glassing Katie Milligan - who now lives with Bird in France - following an argument at their Cronulla home in August 2008.
